My first rococco

I made this dress for the opera ball in 2004, and it was my first ever attempts at getting to know the rococco. In retrospect, I see that I didn't have any concept whatsoever on nether the cut, the look or the feeling of the period. The only thing I was certain of, was that polonaise dresses were awsome, and that pale colours were in. The year I set for the dress was fictional, the cut that of the renaissance and the dress highly unfinished. Most of the time I wore it, both at the opera and the actual ball, was spent pinning the dress together. In the three photos above, you can clearly see the dress progress.
The petticoat is made of chinese patterned silk, and the gown itself is pale blue taffeta. Since it was made, the dress has been ripped apart. It has been severly remodeled, both for the larp Moira and the quick and dirty dress for the opera ball of 2007.
