Torp bruk
Torp bruk is situated outside Fredrikstad. I don't really know all that much about it, so I'll leave it for now.

Tofteberg
This farm at tofteberg shows just what made me fond of abandoned houses to begin with. The place showed every sign of being loved. You could see the pretty details that someone once worked hard on. You could see the century old apple trees and the claystone framing the rhubarb and the flower beds. The door was open, but we didn't go in. It felt rude. Yes the roof was bad, but in a way it seemed like the owners just left the place.

Joyless old farm at Ørmen
Most of the farms I've photoed shows signs of love. You can tell that someone once lived here and loved it for a lifetime, - possibly generations. This place was different. It had all the signs of a place that was a production unit rather than a farm, and a place to eat and sleep rather than a place to live. Therefore I tried to capture what little prettyness I could find.

Run down farm at Ørmen
When I was little, this was my dream house. It's in the middle of a field, and from the road all you can see is a red roof and lots of green bushes, and it looks like quite the cosy home. On a closer inspection, it's less cosy. I've never been a place this quiet before. The farm next door was also uncomfortably silent and tidy, as if someone was trying really hard to make it seem like someone lived there, though noone did.

Barn at Ørmen
This barn has been run down for years, but as they have started to hack away parts of the walls with a chainsaw, probably to keep the fire going through the winter, I thought I should take some photos before it's too late.

A barn in Borge
I have no idea why they stopped using the barn while it was still filled with hay, and I have no idea why they attacked the buildings with a chain saw. Probably for firewood. It was fun to take a look at, though, partly because it looked like a hay-version of children of the corn, where the hay truly had been taking over the place. Partly because it was so utterly abandoned.

House in central Fredrikstad
This now demolished house in central Fredrikstad used to be inhabited by two old couples. When the photos were taken, it hadn't been empty for more than a year. It feels strange to remember that this used to be a very neat and tidy home.

The Kjæråsen Quarry

This quarry isn't really abandoned, but it hasn't been used as a quarry in more than ten years. Nowadays, it's mainly being used for storage.
